ST FRANCIS DE SALES PARISH
JUBILEE 150

SINCERE APPRECIATION AND GRATITUDE

Please know I am truly grateful to everyone who attended the Jubilee 150 Remembrance Mass and Blessing and Dedication of the new Celtic Cross and Memorial Stone in Saint Francis de Sales Parish Cemetery last weekend. Sunday, September 13, 2009 was a most memorable chapter in the long and glorious history of Saint Francis de Sales Parish. A sincere note of gratitude to

Bishop Robert F. Hennessey, Auxiliary Bishop of Boston, for being the Principal Celebrant and Homilist at the Jubilee 150 Remembrance Mass. To everyone who shared in the Remembrance Mass by your prayers, presence and participation, we are very grateful.

A special word of appreciation and gratitude to the Jubilee 150 Committee along with the members of the Parish Staff, the Parish Pastoral and Finance Councils, the Choir, the Altar Servers, Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, the Parish Social Club and the many Parish Organizations who took part in an active manner over the past two years to make all this possible. Thank you all so very, very much.

With the Blessing and Dedication of the Celtic Cross and Memorial Stone in honor of all those whose bodies rest in our Parish Cemetery, another historic milestone was reached in the history of
Saint Francis de Sales Parish. Each one of us must be forever grateful to the Cemetery Memorial Dedication Committee. The Committee Members represented Saint Francis de Sales Parish, The Charlestown Historical Society, the Catholic Cemetery Association and the Archdiocese of Boston. The Cemetery Gate will be open each day from 7AM to 5PM for those who wish to visit the Cemetery, view the Celtic Cross, reflect on the words inscribed on the Memorial Stone and offer a silent prayer for all those interred here in this Sacred Ground.

For the past eighteen months since the Opening Jubilee 150 Mass on April 27, 2008 we have reflected together on the one hundred and fifty year history of the Parish “On The Top Of Bunker Hill”. Together we have celebrated as a Parish Family and together we are grateful to God for the Blessings and Graces God has given and continues to give to each one of us and to our Parish Family of Saint Francis de Sales.

May we continue to travel together through the years ahead confident God is with us! Truly, Jubilee 150 “Rejoice and Be Glad” has been a grace filled time in our own individual lives and in the life of Saint Francis de Sales Parish. Always know that I am very, very grateful to each and every one of you for your goodness to Saint Francis de Sales Parish and to myself over all the years we have traveled together as Members, Friends and Benefactors of this great Parish. You are the best! As a sign of my gratitude you and all those you love are with me at Mass and Prayer every day.
